In Las Vegas, your car's A/C isn't a luxury. On a 110-degree day it's a safety system, especially with kids or older passengers on board. If your vents are blowing warm, the airflow is weak, or the system is making new noises, bring it to our shop on N Decatur Blvd, just north of Craig Road, right at the North Las Vegas city line. We'll find out why, explain it in plain language, and give you a written estimate before any work begins.
Signs Your A/C Needs Repair
- Warm or barely cool air from the vents when it's set to cold. A healthy system should blow cold within about 30 seconds.
- It cools while driving but goes warm at stoplights. This can point to a cooling fan problem. A weak fan also makes the engine run hot at idle.
- Weak airflow even on high, often a clogged cabin air filter or a failing blower motor.
- New noises such as rattling, squealing, or clicking when the A/C turns on.
- A musty or sour smell from the vents.
- Air only blows from some vents, or the temperature or fan controls stop responding.
What Our A/C Service Covers
We start by finding the real cause instead of just adding refrigerant and hoping. Depending on what we find, A/C and climate work at Ortiz Auto Solutions can include:
- A/C diagnosis: checking system performance and pressures and looking for the source of the problem
- A/C recharge once the system is confirmed ready to hold refrigerant
- Blower motor replacement for weak or no airflow
- Climate control repair for controls, blend doors, and settings that don't respond
- Cabin air filter replacement
- Heater repair, for the few cold mornings we do get
Pricing: Call for a quote. Diagnostic fees vary by complexity, and we always share the cost upfront. In many cases, if you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee is applied toward your total.
Warranty: We stand behind our work. Terms depend on the repair and parts used, and we'll lay them out clearly before we start.
Why Las Vegas Heat Is Hard on Your A/C
Your A/C compressor runs almost constantly here. From May through October it rarely gets a break, and parts that sit idle for months in other climates are under steady load in ours. Warm air from a previously working A/C is the most common call we get in June.
- Refrigerant slowly leaks over time, and a system that's a little low gets worse fast in summer heat.
- Heat and sun dry out seals and rubber, including the door seals that keep cool air in.
- Desert dust clogs cabin air filters, which cuts airflow and makes the system work harder.
- The A/C and the engine cooling system share the load. A failing radiator fan can cause weak A/C and engine overheating at the same time. Read more in Is Your Car Overheating in the Las Vegas Heat?
Get ahead of the heat. Have your A/C system inspected every 2 to 3 years, ideally before May, and don't ignore warm-air symptoms. See our summer maintenance checklist for the rest of your pre-summer prep.

Heating & A/C Repair FAQ
The most common cause is low refrigerant from a slow leak. A failing compressor, a cooling fan problem, a blower motor, or an electrical fault can also cause it. A diagnosis tells us which one it is so you only pay to fix the real problem.
If the system is low, a recharge can make a big difference. But refrigerant doesn't get used up; if it's low, it's leaking somewhere. We check the system first so a recharge isn't a short-term fix.
Have your A/C system inspected every 2 to 3 years, ideally before May. Address warm-air symptoms right away, because a low refrigerant situation gets worse fast in summer heat.
Yes. Our shop is on N Decatur Blvd just north of Craig Road, right at the North Las Vegas city line, and we handle A/C and heater repair for drivers across North Las Vegas, Las Vegas, and the northwest valley.
At a stop there's no air moving through the front of the car, so the system depends on the cooling fan. A weak or failing fan can make the A/C warm up at idle and can also make the engine run hot.
