Why Las Vegas Drivers Need More Frequent Service
Most owner's manuals have two service schedules: normal and severe. Extreme temperatures, dust, and heavy stop-and-go traffic all count as severe conditions, and Las Vegas has all three. That usually means:
- Oil changes every 3,000 to 5,000 miles with conventional oil. Synthetic typically lasts 7,500 to 10,000 miles, but heat and traffic can shorten both.
- More frequent fluid checks. Heat speeds up the breakdown of brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, and engine oil.
